Our Poultry Selections

We sell barnyard mix F1 crosses and specific breeds, Depending on what your needs are we try and satisfy them. All the livestock get to free range. This leads to healthier birds and more contented chicks. Generally speaking we suggest that you get F1 or  barn yard mix unless you are planning to enter chicken shows with them. The reason for this is that the breeds that are in demand such as Easter Eggers, and Orphington's or Sex link all have drawbacks if your goal is to raise eggs. There  is also a premium price attached to purebred stock. We breed all of our chickens that are born on the farm with Rhode Island Reds roosters. This gives all the chicks born here the advantage of hybred vigor with increased egg and meat production.

Hybrid vigor (heterosis) in chickens is the improved performance of offspring from crossing genetically different purebreds, resulting in healthier, hardier birds with enhanced traits like faster growth (Cornish Cross), higher egg production (ISA Brown), and stronger immunity,

Our duck collection consists of Pekin ducks of all ages and sizes. These ducks have been shown to be  far superior in terms of production of eggs and quality of the meat carcass. A big advantage of Pekin  ducks is that even if you get some males in with your female ducklings the males end up bringing excellent market prices in the meat market.

Our quail collection is fun and rewarding  experience. Because of their very gentle temperament and small size they're easy for anyone to handle from children to adults. These birds aren't just for show either they provide the highest quality of eggs of any type of poultry. There meat is considered a treat for its taste and texture. These birds start producing early at only 6 to 8 weeks you will have eggs for eating fresh or pickling. These birds are a can't miss opportunity.
